The end of disability? Immunity to HIV/AIDS? Flawless memory? Enhanced vision? Superior physiological performance?
These are some of the scenarios that could happen in the near future; all thanks to bio technology. To a certain degree, as Amber Case, cyborg anthropologist, argues that we are all cyborgs; in a way, machines help us become better by co-creating with us.
Hence, we are entering the next phase of Human Augmentation, and in today’s episode of The Big Bang podcast we discuss the big question: “What is the future of human physical enhancement?”
The video game Call of Duty Black Ops III gives us a peek into what could be the future of human physical enhancement :
We discussed the following questions on this episode :
- Is using technology to better ourselves just a natural part of our evolution?
- What should we expect from the future of human ability?
- Will we be smarter and healthier in the future?
- What kind of superpowers will be radically useful in the future?
- How concerned should we be about depending on these technologies to be better humans?
- Will people be discriminated for not being augmented?
What do you think is the future of human augmentation?
